Vela ("the App") is published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). This policy describes how the App handles information when you use it. The short version: Vela is built so that your pet's health data never leaves your device, and we never see it.
No account. No cloud. No tracking. Vela has no servers that hold your data, requires no sign-up, and collects no analytics or advertising identifiers. Everything you log stays on your iPhone.
1. Your Pet's Health Data Stays On Your Device
- Everything you log is stored locally. Pet profiles, seizure and symptom episodes, glucose readings, medications and dose events, notes, and any photos or video clips you attach are saved on your device using Apple's SwiftData — not on our servers.
- The App does not upload, transmit, stream, or back up your pet's data to us or to any third party.
- The App has no login and no cloud sync. If you delete the App, all of its local data is removed with it.
- When you choose to export or share a report via the iOS share sheet (Messages, Mail, AirDrop, Files, etc.), you control where it goes — we are not involved and do not see it.
2. Data We Store Locally
- Pet profiles: Name, species, and the conditions you choose to track.
- Health logs: Seizure/symptom episodes (time, duration, severity, notes), blood-glucose readings, medications, and dose events.
- Attachments (optional): Photos or video clips you add to an episode, stored in the App's local sandbox.
- Preferences & reminders: Your settings and any medication or glucose-check reminders you schedule.
- Purchase status: Your subscription state, managed by Apple's StoreKit and cached locally to unlock Premium features.
3. Permissions We Request
- Notifications (optional): Used only to deliver the medication and glucose-check reminders you set. You can disable them in iOS Settings at any time.
- Photo Library (read-only, optional): Only when you choose to attach a photo or video clip to an episode. The App accesses only the item you pick via the iOS picker — it does not browse or upload your library.
- Face ID / Touch ID (optional): If you enable App Lock, authentication is handled entirely by iOS. The App is only told whether unlock succeeded; we never receive your biometric data.
Vela does not request microphone, camera, location, contacts, or health-record (HealthKit) access.
4. Third-Party Services
The only third party involved is Apple:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: Manages subscriptions and purchases. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Vela contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking SDKs.
5. Data Storage and Security
- All pet data, logs, attachments, preferences, and reminders are stored locally on your device.
- We operate no servers that hold your pet's data, and no health data is transmitted to or stored by us.
- You can enable App Lock (Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode) to add a layer of protection on top of iOS device encryption.
- The App's core features work completely offline.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or your pet's health data with anyone. We have no access to it. Reports you generate are shared only by you, only when you choose to, through the iOS share sheet.
7. Not Veterinary Advice
Vela is a record-keeping and journaling tool to help you track and share your pet's health information. It is not a medical device and does not provide veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or advice. 8. Your Rights & Choices
Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control. You can:
- Edit or delete any pet, episode, reading, or medication inside the App
- Delete the App to permanently remove all local data, logs, and attachments
- Disable Notifications, Photo Library access, or App Lock from iOS Settings at any time

9. Children's Privacy
The App is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. Because the App collects no personal data and requires no account, there is no personal information to collect from anyone, including children under 13.
